LISTEN to the Voices Inside YOUR Head!

Posted by georgiannasaysjustdoyou on September 13, 2010

I bet you don’t hear that every day.  But people always have advice to give you, critiques and general thoughts.  They are nudging you towards a decision they feel good about or, let’s face it, they are trying to tell you what to do.

Often, we cave in to the pressure when the voices outside of our head are all telling us the same thing.  There is just one problem with that.  Despite the appearance of consensus, only YOU live your life and only YOU can decide exactly how to live it.

There are so many quotes about courageous people who have gone against the grain, against social norms, against the advice of just about everyone in their lives.  These are people who have made history.

It’s okay to hear people out and to take their counsel into consideration, but it is ultimately up to you to decide if it works for you.  Push aside the guilt trips and the pressure.  Live for yourself so that you may be full and able to give to others as you choose.  Listen to the voices inside YOUR head.

I don’t have the answers, but I always have thoughts.  Won’t you share yours?

  1. Thank you Georgianna. Your articles have a terrific tendency of reminding me of important things to remember for my life…

We have most of the answers within ourselves, whether it be in our heads or through Inner Guidance. We should be open to advice from the outside but only accept if from those who are successful themselves in that particular area; only accept financial advice from wealthy people, relationship advice from those who have solid, happy relationships, etc.

Also, be on the “lookout” for unsolicited advice. Typically people who bring lots of that to YOUR life are the last ones you’d want to follow. Good leaders (with good information) tend to lead by example.

This is great, I think it’s important to try and find a balance when using your intuition, whether its “gut” feelings or voices in your head. A lot of choices or decisions can be swayed by either too much emotion, or too much logic in many situations. All of your acquaintances, friends, colleagues or whatever are influenced in these same ways, and it has a hand in the advice they offer. Hopefully you know yourself best and can extrapolate what all these things your consciousness is telling you mean and make a decision that best suits you.
