Taking care of Y-O-U!

Posted by georgiannasaysjustdoyou on June 8, 2010

Every day is a new opportunity to be good to yourself.  We often spend time being good to others and neglect ourselves.  We take care of our significant others, our children, our co-workers, our neighbors, etc…  Don’t for get about Y-O-U.

It is true that we can sometimes be criticized for taking time for ourselves (some people more than others).  We have been called selfish, bad parents, loners, divas and so on.  The truth is, we MUST take care of ourselves in order to be happy, not to mention that we won’t have anything to give if we don’t take care.

Being good to yourself can be taking 15 minutes of alone time every morning or during the day.  Or, it could mean taking an entire weekend.  We all have different needs and different limitations.  So if you don’t have the luxury to spend a weekend at the spa, take small chunks of time where you are only doing for you.

Can’t go get a mani/pedi?  Give yourself one.  Can’t afford a massage?  Take a long hot bath and soak…  Read, write, or do other things that are creative and make you happy.

What are things that you do to take care of yourself with limited means or limited time?

I don’t have the answers, but I always have thoughts.  Won’t you share yours?
